My journey with the ring - a Tl:DR

Bilbo gives Frodo the "one ring". Frodo meets up with a council to decide the fate of the ring. Frodo volunteers to take the ring to Mordor. Frodo takes the ring to Mordor, accompanied Sam Gamgee and Gollum. Gollum betrays them at the last minute, but they still manage to get the ring into Mt Doom. Bigass eagles come and save them from the exploding volcano after the ring is thrown in. /end

o attempt to some up the entirety of Lord of the Rings into one paragraph would be doing it a great injustice. The most important parts of the work are often not the plot driving ones and would not fit into a paragraph summary. By reading a simple tl;dr of the plot you would get almost nothing from it unless you truly know absolutely nothing about LotR. You might as well just read a wikipedia article on it. Or better yet, actually read the book.
